About Luiz Morais
Guitarist, composer and music educator Luiz Morais built his musical foundations immersed in the vibrant musical culture of Brazil. Having studied a Bachelors in music at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he has also gained an MA in Performance from the renowned Berklee College of Music.
Based in London since 2010, Luiz has collaborated great artists internationally and plays in a variety of groups exploring a wide scope of musical genres, ranging from Bossa Nova and classical guitar to pop, jazz and world music, including his own group – Luiz Morais Quintet – that has played in some the UK’s most prestigious venues.
With extensive experience teaching guitar, harmony, improvisation and music theory for all ages both privately and in schools across London, Luiz’s classes are unique in their inspiring way of combining the practical aspect of learning how to play the instrument with a deeper understanding musical concepts which are vital for every student’s learning process.
Luiz Morais’ work as a composer and professional guitarist at the cutting edge of London’s music scene also feeds into the creativity and quality of his teaching, and ensures that his classes are always fresh, up to date and engaging.
