About Pavlina Rangelova

Dedicated to the field of music education, Pavlina Rangelova is a music educator with more than 8 years experience in teaching piano and music theory overseas. She has also taught group and primary school music classes for 3.5 years.

Pavlina has started her musical journey at the early age of 5 in her home city of Varna (Bulgaria), where she has been accepted to study at the National School of Arts “Dobri Christov”. After graduating her secondary education with major in music, she continued her studies at the National Academy of Music in Sofia (Bulgaria), where she studied Piano Performance under the renowned Bulgarian pianist Prof. Atanas Kurtev. During the years of her studies Pavlina has played numerous recitals in Bulgaria, France and Germany and she has won awards from national and international music competitions both as a soloist and a chamber musician.

After graduating with master’s degree in Piano Performance from the National Academy of Music, Pavlina began her full-time teaching career at a music institute in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) in 2010. Pavlina has taught in the UAE for 8 years and she has experience with students of various ages, backgrounds, and abilities, and with different goals and expectations of their piano lessons. She has prepared many students for graded ABRSM piano and music theory exams (Grades 1-8), always with excellent outcome – her students have achieved 100% pass rate and many high pass, merit and distinction marks throughout the years. Pavlina’s students have often been invited to participate in high-scorers’ concerts and other music events across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Pavlina’s teaching style is rooted in the Russian traditions of piano pedagogy. While taking great care of good tone production, body posture and understanding of sound, she tailors her teaching to her students’ needs and helps them to fulfil their full musical potential.

Pavlina has recently relocated to London and she is very excited to be continuing her teaching career in a place with such a rich musical history and so many opportunities.

Pavlina’s qualifications include also DipABRSM in piano teaching, and PGCE (international) from University of Nottingham.
