Sophie Whitehead

– Music Theory, Singing, Songwriting Teacher

About Sophie Whitehead

Sophie is a graduate from London College of Music, achieving a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance and Recording.

With over 10 years experience in singing, performing and writing; Sophie specialises in pop and rock music while forming bands and collaborating with various professional musicians, songwriters and producers.

During her time at Leeds College of Music, Sophie was introduced to popular music theory. From this, she discovered a passion for theory and went on to attain Grade 5 in music theory. With hard work and determination, she furthered her knowledge independently by learning grades 6 to 8.

Following on from this, Sophie found her love for teaching while conducting a 4-week songwriting workshop at a local primary school in London. She then furthered her teaching skills while working in the pop and rock department at a performing arts camp in New York. She taught students from the ages of 6 to 16, helping campers form bands and write songs.

Group songwriting classes with Sophie isn’t about working through grades but rather collaborating with other budding young songwriters to aspire to make the next big pop song. Creativity and self expression is at the heart of writing and in order for lessons to be fun and productive, Sophie works hard at maintaining a safe environment to nurture the passion and talent of the futures next big songwriters.
